The ideal Product Manager is part business/consumer lead, part designer, and part developer. This person is on top of their projects, your team is engaged and feels confident in meeting deadlines. The PM sleeps, eats, and breathes their product while improving it.
This person is there from the beginning to end and is the undisputed product expert. The PM is comfortable working directly with researchers and designers to help define the project’s vision and goals. The PM is meticulous about organizing the product structure while reviewing concepts and wireframes on a daily basis. You are familiar with tech language and align the development to attain product sprints.
The PM is responsible for launching and measuring the product. This person constantly monitors the success of the product, read data, and look for areas to make it better. The PM has a thorough understanding of the design process and Agile systems. This person has strong interpersonal skills while working with their team, researchers, designers, and engineers to be effective.
Primary Responsibilities:
•Lead discovery and definition of digital products that are desirable, usable, and feasible.
•Define functional requirements and process workflows to drive development and QA efforts.
•Identify and analyze metrics in order to track the success of the product.
•Work intimately with designers and developers to refine and build product and features.
•Research and understand industry trends and technology.
•Manage release planning in support of legislative and client updates with development/QA.
•Lead product development beta tests and databases.
•Empathic in your interactions with customers/clients challenges, behaviors, and attitudes.
•Identify and analyze metrics in order to track the success of the product.
•Develop cogent points-of-view on emerging technologies and competitive products.
•Correspond and advocate product benefits and findings to stakeholders.
•Measure and prioritize requests for product changes and enrichments.
•Support internal processes, procedures, and activities relating to client installations/updates of software products.
•Manage release planning in support of legislative and client updates with development/QA.
•Define functional requirements and process workflows to drive development and QA efforts.
Requirements:
•Five plus years experience in DIGITAL product management/product management design.
•BA or BS in a computer science or related field.
•Knowledge of web services, large data sets, and database systems.
•Strong organizational, written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
•Assertive in working with high level decision makers, including senior executives.
•Holistic in collaborating with designers and developers to retain enthusiasm.
•Methodical approach to solving problems.
•Demonstrated ability to engage cross-functional groups to accomplish goals.
•Strong leadership skills; people respect you and want to follow your lead.
•Agile experience
•Prior experience working with retail and/or consumer sites/applications.
Nice to Have:
•Indoor mapping/Google Mapping experience.
•Formal project management practice.
•Two years experience as a business analyst.
