The Vice President, Engineering will lead the software engineering team in developing, designing, releasing, and maintaining software solutions including e-commerce platforms, interactive multi-channel, and data management systems. This person will be a compelling force in developing plentiful, distinct, and technically grand projects across multiple platforms.
Primary Responsibilities:
•Production of engineering documents, documentation of functionality, and designs with an architectural lens.
•Clarity of technical standards, best practices, and standards.
•Lead all aspects of engineering for a consumer platform including design, development, and support.
•Proactive technical experience influencing product architecture and how the design will fit into the Westfield Labs strategy.
•Practical with solution oriented approaches with technical issues.
•Executing and employment processes for phases of web engineering and all methodologies for project utilization.
•Investigation and application of latest relevant technology.
Requirements:
•Seven plus years of professional experience managing engineering teams that designed, developed, and launched digital products.
•Bachelors Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
•Robust knowledge of general database design.
•Practice in full Agile software development life cycle and methodologies
•Respected leader with detail oriented style while passionate about delivering quality products.
•Persistently strive to achieve customer satisfaction while under extreme amounts of stress.
•Strong understanding of PHP, AJAX, HTML, XML, XHTML, Smarty, JavaScript, JQuery, Mootools, and CSS to name several.
•Experience with REST and SOAP style interfaces and service-oriented architecture.
•Proven track of top-notch delivery.
•Assurance to excellent operational, results, and performance.
Nice to Have:
•Masters degree in Computer Science or related field.
•Published author.
•Experience running a web service for making Thumbnails of Web pages.
