Sambreel is looking for a Senior Database Administrator to join our DBA team. Responsibilities

• Installation, administration and maintenance of database server instances.
• Monitoring and performance tuning: physical server level, database level and query tuning.
• Troubleshoot various problems that arise on a day-to-day basis and fix the issues.
• Automate routine database administration tasks and provide support to BI Team.
• DBA should evaluate the current design and be ready to manage the existing systems within first 60 days and suggest/provide improvements to current system in first 90 days.

Qualifications

• Expert in MS SQL server (2005/2008/2012)
• Administer large scale and high growth systems (1TB+ databases)
• Experience working with high volume OLTP systems (10k transactions/sec)
• Strong knowledge about SQL server internals and general database design concepts
• Strong SQL programming skills.
• Good experience with mirroring, clustering, replication and partitioning.
• Willing and able to be on-call as needed.

Desired

• Designing and implementing large scale data warehouse systems.
• Experience with big data / NoSQL systems like Hadoop, Hive, Couchbase, etc.
• Experience with scripting languages.
