Underground Elephant is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team. Responsibilities:
• Own the end-to-end QA process for weekly deployments including test planning, test plan & case creation, executing tests, bug verification, documentation and communication of QA results
• Ensure quality is built into all software releases for both internal and customer-facing applications
• Dynamic and prepared to test a high volume of changes on a day-to-day basis
• Perform and reconcile test data, as well as communicate any risks associated with releases as a result of QA tests
• Identify and communicate issues/risks applying technical and root cause analysis skills
• Take ownership of issues and track through to resolution
• Troubleshoot complex issues using advanced testing techniques
• Interface with product and development teams to address bugs, enhancements and features
• Manage and configure test environments
• Actively Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on features/implementation/usability
• Assist operations in deployments as needed
Requirements/Qualifications:
• 2-5+ years of QA experience, with a proven track record detecting and writing bug reports
• Proven experience in writing, deploying and maintaining test scripts using PHP and web testing frameworks/tools (PHPUnit, Behat, Selenium) and designing/implementing new features and enhancements
• Solid understanding of web technologies, browsers and applications, particularly Linux, Apache and PHP
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies and tools
• Adept at Agile methodologies and how QA fits in this paradigm
• Strong SDLC and QA methodology knowledge
• Ability to learn new technology quickly
• Must be flexible and able to apply a proper sense of urgency to shifting priorities
• Test-to-break mentality and tireless pursuit of quality
• Demonstrated skill with application testing procedures, techniques, and tools, including test planning, case writing and automation
• Experience testing scalable and highly available web applications at all layers of the architecture
• Experience writing SQL queries to validate data and test results
• In-depth knowledge of Quality Assurance strategies and methodologies.
• Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle
• Experience with system, integration, regression, front-end and back-end testing
• Flexibility in adapting to rapidly changing requirements
• Ability to work independently but also able to communicate cross-functionally to seek out information when required
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Experience integrating automated tests with phpCruiseControl/Hudson/Jenkins is a plus
